Today we continued our study of Minor Prophets - specifically, we are studying Habakkuk - Chapter 2, which we started today.
In Habakkuk chapter 2, Habakkuk identifies his prophetic book as applying to the Last Days, specifically. And he connects the final fulfillment of these prophecies with the "Appointed Times", which are the Feast Days.
Today, our special focus of study is the "he" in Habakkuk chapter 2, who is the dictatorial ruler of Chaldea (Babylon) - aka the Beast of Revelation 13.

The End-time Beast is following a horrible pattern of
dictator/autocracy… And like Scripture
says, “when the righteous the people rejoice (everyone) and when the wicked
bear rule, the people mourn…”
Habakkuk 2:4-5 “Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:"

The wine of Babylon is referenced
o This is a symbol of the saints’ blood.
o Wine is also false doctrine – false teachings/ideas… (sin is exonerated,
and Scripture – Torah is hated and put down)

The Beast (or leader of the Chaldeans)
is not upright (he is very ungodly)
·
He is a proud leader (personal pride)
·
He doesn’t “keep at home”, meaning he
conquers the nations around him.
·
He enlarges his desire as hell… this means that the beast wants to destroy
every soul – just like hell.
·
The death-hell reference is a likely a
connection with the pale horse – or fourth Seal:
o Revelation 6:7-8 “And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of
the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and
his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was
given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with
hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”

The final Antichrist is
the one who will control-rule over all nations – all the world wondered after
the Beast.
The just
(means “lawful” – Torah-obedient, “righteous”) shall live by his faith
(“firmness, verity (Truth), moral fidelity (faithfulness to Torah)”… Even if we’re martyred for our faith
(faithful), we will LIVE. The Promise is that no man – including the voracious
Beast – or the devil himself – can take LIFE from the faithful people of God.
How do we
get faith?
· “A measure of faith is given to every
man” – so the initial faith comes directly from Yahweh.
· We are to grow our faith like a
talent… “Faith cometh by hearing… the
Word of God.”
Habakkuk
2:6-7 “Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting
proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is
not his! How long? And to him that ladeth himself with thick clay
(pawned goods, entanglements)! Shall they not rise up suddenly that
shall bite (strike with a deadly sting) thee, and awake
that shall vex thee (cause to fear), and thou shalt be for
booties (plunder) unto them?”
The worksheet is not posted, as we will complete all of the studies of Habakkuk on this worksheet set, and then I will post the completed worksheet. There are three chapters of Habakkuk.
