In today's session of Prophecy Club, we continued our study of Zechariah's 4th vision, found in Zechariah 3:1-10.
In our study today, we identified "Joshua" (Yahshua) the High Priest, as Christ - Yahshua Messiah, the righteous Branch.
Who is Joshua in this vision?
He is the (role) High Priest (Zech 3:1) – His Name is Yahshua
A fair (beautiful) mitre (priestly crown) is set on His head (Zech 3:5)
He is appointed as Judge over Yahweh’s house (Zech 3:7)
He is called the BRANCH (Zech 3:8, 6:12)

H6780 – tsemach צֶמַח
o “a sprout (usually concretely), literally or figuratively: - branch, bud, that which (where) grew (upon), spring (-ing).”
Five times
in the writings of the Bible prophets the Messiah
is called the Tsemach. The King James translators rendered the word Tsemach
into English as BRANCH – which is
often in all capital letters. They recognized the Messianic reference in each
case where the prophets of Israel used the word Tsemach.
It is only
by putting the Gospels together that we see Yahshua as the Tsemach, the Netzer, the
Messiah / Messiah has five BRANCH Roles: the King, the Servant, the Son of Man,
the only begotten Son of Yah – the Lamb, and the Almighty Judge.

Hello, I understand that Yahushua's five branch roles as Messiah are portrayed in the sky. As I follow around the quadrants I wonder by the fourth role is not the gospel of John but rather John the Revelator depicting Yahushua's divine role as judge as represented by the eagle; so that, one has to skip to the fourth gospel of John to find it in the center., Yes, the sacrificial lamb is the center of it all - still rather confusing to me. Perhaps some light may be shed on this query.
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, good question. We answered this in class today. There are five roles of Messiah and five Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Revelation. Revelation is portraying the Judgment - Eagle role of Messiah. The Gospel of John is portraying the Sacrificial - Worthy Lamb Role of Messiah.
