Prophecy Club 3 - Day 2 - Zechariah's 4th Vision

In today's session of Prophecy Club, we began our study of Zechariah's 4th vision, found in Zechariah 3:1-10.

In our study today, we found that the setting for Zechariah’s fourth vision is the Throne of Yahweh. Thus, this vision takes place before the Throne of Yahweh in Heaven… a.k.a. the Seat of Judgment.

• Psalm 89:14 – Judgment and Justice are provided by Yahweh on His Throne
• Psalm 97:2 – His Throne is the Place – the Highest in the Universe, there is no higher court – of Righteousness and Judgment.
• Daniel 7:21-22 – It is when the saints appeal before the Throne that they are given the Judgment that gains victory over the horn and causes the full possession of the Heavenly Kingdom.
• Daniel 7:21-22  “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.”

·       The Throne of Yahweh is the highest Court of Appeals in the Universe.

What role does the devil have in this vision? (Zech 3:1-2) Satan is the arch enemy of good (Strong’s definition)

·  “resist” (Zech 3:1) – to resist means “to attack, (figuratively) accuse” (H7853)

• ·  Revelation 12:10 – Satan is the “accuser of the brethren,” but is defeated by the Blood of the Lamb (it is only by the Blood that our sin is forgiven).

Why does Satan have the ability to appear in this vision, performing this role?

• ·  Daniel 7:27 – Not only is Yahweh the highest Authority with the over-all dominion, but under Him, He has created lesser “dominions”. Dominions are areas of legal authority.
•    Colossians 1:16 – Yahweh created everything and all… He also set up lesser areas of authority – a whole authority structure – under Him… “they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers.”
• ·  Genesis 1:27-28 – Adam and Eve were given (at Creation) dominion (jurisdiction and authority over) planet Earth. This is a lesser dominion than Yahweh’s.
•    Romans 6:9 & 14 – A dominion is described as Death…  This dominion wasn’t on earth at Creation. Sin gained dominion…  When Adam and Eve fell, they lost the dominion…  Earth came under the legal dominion of the devil…  Sin…  Death…
•    Job 1:6-8 – Satan appears in Heaven, along with the sons of God (unfallen) and is the representative of Earth… 
•    Matthew 4:8 – Satan has the lesser dominion, which would have been Adam’s…  meaning, he owns or has dominion over the kingdoms of this world.
•    Revelation 5:1-5 – The Book (title deed to planet Earth – referencing dominion over Earth) cannot be opened…  but One can! Yahshua can open Book, because of His Sacrifice – restoring the holy dominion.
