Prophecy Club Part 2 - Session 7 - September 6, 2021

 

In today's session, we continued working on our new set of worksheets, which is on the Final 70 Week prophecy, from Daniel 9:24-27.  

There were some challenges in today's class, due to the understandable confusion caused by there being a missing year in the BC to AD change-over...

In our class today there was some confusion over the idea of adding a year from BC to AD...  

Here are a few websites about the missing zero year and how to account for it when counting from BC to AD:

Here's a way to calculate in order to include the missing year and get the right date:

If there were a year zero, then the time from 1 BC to AD 1 (AD -1 to AD +1, if you like) would be 1 - -1 = 1 + 1 = 2. But it’s actually only 1. 

So add the BC year to the AD year, then subtract 1 from the answer....  In our class today, using the Daniel 9 dates, it would be as follows:

457 BC + 34 AD = 491 years - 1 (for the missing year) = 490 years.

Therefore 34 AD is 490 years after 457 BC...
