Who are the 24 Elders?

4:4 “And round about the throne were four and
twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed
in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.”
Looking at the Key Words in the verse, let's see what we can find in this intentional and meaningful description of the 24 Elders:
o They are called "Elders" –
is a term that suggests a connection with the Body of Christ - is not elderly
(or showing the signs of decay and age degeneration), elders are leaders in
the church (Body of Christ)…

In the anointing, we are instructed
to call for the “elders” to lay hands on and anoint with oil… James 4… This is not about age, it’s about
leadership in the Faith.
o They are seated on Thrones, in Heaven - The elders are in a position of rulership (under Yahweh) in Heaven –
we know this because they are seated on thrones… Man has been appointed positions of dominion
by Yahweh (elohim… is
translated as “god” in our Bible, but it doesn’t only mean Yahweh… An elohim is anyone in a position of
leadership/dominion/jurisdiction)
o They are clothed in White Raiment –
they are clothed in white raiment…
Wedding language… purity…
Righteousness is likened to “white raiment” – the saints wear this…

Revelation 3:4-5
tells us that overcomers/the saints are clothed in white raiment (Revelation
6:11 – for the saints, a white robe is representative symbol of Salvation;
Revelation 7:9 & 13-14; Revelation 19:14 – of all the references to white
raiment, this one includes angels)
o They wear Crowns – they
are wearing crowns, which represent positions of leadership and authority, and
eternal life (Revelation 2:10; Psalm 21:3; 2 Timothy 4:8)
· Revelation 4:10-11
“The four and twenty elders fall down before Him that sat on the Throne, and
worship Him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the
Throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Yahweh, to receive glory and honour and
power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy Pleasure they are and were
created.” (See also Revelation 7:13-14)

The concept of casting crowns shows
surrender, humility, worship, and complete submission to Yahweh’s
Supremacy. Also, it demonstrates unworthiness… Why? This suggests that this company is made
up of the saved…
· Revelation 5:8-10
“And when he had taken the Book, the four beasts and four and twenty
elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden
vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new
song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the Book, and to open the Seals thereof:
for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy Blood out
of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us
unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
Let's examine the key aspects of this vision of the 24 Elders at the Throne of Yahweh:
o There are Four Beasts with the 24 Elders – these are the
living Seraphim angels, which are representing 4 of the Roles of Messiah: Man,
Eagle, Bull, Lion (Yahshua Himself is portrayed in the vision as the fifth
Role – the Highest of them all: the Worthy Lamb). This shows us that the 24 Elders' thrones are directly around the Throne of Yahweh, for the four Seraphim angels serve Yahweh at His Throne.
o The Book, which is the Scroll Sealed with 7 Seals – this is Title Deed to Planet Earth (full restoration to Yahweh’s dominion, and
healing/deliverance from rebellion – this is presented in the study on Youtube

o The 24 Elders carry Harps – harps represents
praise and worship of Yahweh for victory. The fact that the elders carry harps suggests praise to Yahshua for His victory - this indicates that they are likely saved humans, who have found victory in Christ.
- Psalm 33:2 "Praise Yahweh with harp: sing unto Him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings."
- Psalm 43:4 "Then will I go unto the Altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise Thee, O God my God.
- 1 Corinthians 15:57 "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Sovereign Yahshua Messiah."
o The 24 Elders carry golden Vials of Odours (which is incense)
– represents intercession and prayers of the saints.
o The 24 Elders State that They are Redeemed by Yahshua's Blood - The statement that they make tells
us beyond question that the 24 Elders are human, having been saved from Earth:
“ Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy Blood.”
They are among the redeemed – they have a leadership role, among the Redeemed.

“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying,
The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Yahweh, and of
His Messiah; and He shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and twenty
elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and
worshipped God, Saying, We give thee thanks, O Sovereign God Almighty, which
art, and wast, and art to come; because Thou hast taken to Thee Thy great
Power, and hast reigned.”
