Prophecy Club 3 - Session 48 - March 22, 2023

Of all the Bible prophecies, Zechariah 6:9-15 is one of the most critically important to understand because it insures that we will follow the true Messiah, and not be taken out by the Antichrist!  

Zechariah 6:12 is one of the five BRANCH Prophecies. Messiah is the BRANCH. Thus, the proof that Yahshua is the BRANCH is found in the Gospels, which show His fulfillment of the five Branch prophecies.

Building the Temple of Yahweh – Zechariah 6:12-13

Zechariah prophesied that the Messiah— the BRANCH—would build the Temple of Yahweh. “Behold, the Man whose Name is BRANCH (Tsemach), He shall build the Temple of Yahweh.” Zechariah 6:12.

Many professing people of “Israel” reject Yahshua as the true Messiah because they claim He did not build the Temple, as the coming “Messiah” (Anti-Christ) is expected to do.

Yahshua did build the Temple of Yahweh! In fact this was one of the main focuses of His Messianic Ministry. Yahshua spiritually built the Temple of Yahweh!

·  Yahshua built the Spiritual Temple (Yahweh is Spirit, and they that worship Him must do so in Spirit and Truth).

·   Anti-messiah will build the literal temple…

One commonly misunderstood part of Yahshua’s teaching was that He was focusing on the spiritual, while His hearers were stuck in the literal.

For Example, when Scripture referred to “Abraham’s Seed” (a.k.a. Israel), people thought God meant that humans with the right D.N.A. were saved.

This is not a new misconception. It was around in Christ’s day. In fact, the Pharisees who were rejecting Yahshua’s Messiahship still insisted that they were “Abraham’s Seed”—a statement which was literally true, but was totally misapplied.

For as Yahshua plainly explained, unless one does “the works of Abraham”, one is not the seed of Abraham (Israel), no matter what their D.N.A. may happen to be! In fact, far from being the true seed of Abraham, Christ said these Jewish leaders were really the seed “of their father the devil” (John 8:31-44)!

Another example of people interpreting prophecy literally, thereby missing the deeper spiritual application, is the case of the Temple.

Christ said that upon being destroyed the Temple would be built again in three days.

When Yahshua said this, the Jewish leaders mocked Him for this pronouncement. They wrongly interpreted His prophecy to mean that He claimed to rebuild Herod’s Temple in three days—a structure which had taken over four decades to build.

But Yahshua wasn’t talking about rebuilding the literal Temple (although He Who had spoken the world into existence in 6 days, could certainly have rebuilt the literal Temple). When Yahshua said He would rebuild the Temple in three days, He was referring to the spiritual Temple of His own Body, for He would be raised from the Dead three days after His execution (John 2:19-21).

Just as the spiritual Temple of Yahshua’s Body was rebuilt, rather than the literal Temple, so also did Messiah come to build the spiritual Temple of Yahweh. The Branch prophecy of Zechariah 6:12 was a spiritual one. It was a reference to Messiah’s Work in building up His People. We—His Church—are spiritually called His Temple (1 Corinthians 3:16).

Each school year, I organize the class schedule around the Spring and Fall Feasts. Passover and Unleavened Bread is coming up very soon (April 5-12), and we will not be having Prophecy Club during that time. 

Also, I need a couple of days prior to the Feast/Retreat to prepare for the Retreat. So, the following is the April schedule for Prophecy Club, just to give you a heads-up well in advance:
