Today, we completed our study of Zechariah's 6th vision, found in Zechariah 5:1-11. And we started our study of Zechariah's 7th vision, found in Zechariah 6:1-8.
Today we just looked at the two brass mountains, in this vision, and found the following:
The Two Brass Mountains – Zechariah
6:1-2

What
are mountains in Bible Prophecy? – Revelation 17:9-10 – Mountains are “heads”
or “kings” (aka kingdoms) which are leading powers on the earth.
·
What is Mount Zion? – Mount Zion is the Kingdom of
Yahweh, which is comprised of His saved people (aka Jerusalem, Israel…)
o
Isaiah 51:16 – Zion is the saved people of Yahweh
o
Psalm 125:1 – Mount Zion is the people of Yahweh
o
Micah 4:1-2 – Mount Zion is Yahweh’s Kingdom –
aka the “stone kingdom” which breaks the image of Daniel 2, aka the Temple or
House of Yahweh, aka the Mountain, or holy Mountain… This is Yahweh’s saved people – all of them together
make up Mount Zion. This prophecy of Micah foretells the future day when the
whole world will know that Yahweh’s Kingdom is THE Kingdom.

does brass represent?
o
Brass
- H5178 – “copper”
§ Today, brass is an alloy of copper
and zinc, but this combination was not known until the thirteenth century. What
is designated by this word in Scripture is properly copper.

Brass
is a symbol of prosperity and abundance in Yahweh’s blessing - Deuteronomy
8:7-9
o
Brass
is a symbol of pride and unrepentance and rebellion - Isaiah 48:4; Jeremiah
6:28
o
Brass
is a symbol of Redemption (salvation from the serpent) - Numbers 21:4-9 (the
altar of Burnt Sacrifice was brass, and represented Calvary, the laver was
polished brass…)
o
Brass
is a symbol of strength - Psalm 107:15-16
o
Brass
is a symbol of that which is strong and powerful - Micah 4:13
·
Brass,
as a prophetic symbol, can be either positive or negative. Which it is, depends
on the context.
·
Who
are the two brass mountains in this vision?
o
Mount Zion is one brass mountain – Zion is Redeemed, Zion is blessed,
Zion is strong and powerful (because Yahweh is in it).
o
The Mount of Babylon is the other brass mountain (notice
the mountains are not connected… There
is a space between them in the vision) – Babylon is brass negatively, being
filled with pride, unrepentance and rebellion. It is strong and powerful.
o
These two mountains are the two sides
of the conflict. They are the two kingdoms.

I’ve been catching up on my prophecy club as I’ve gotten a bit behind.. Today I feel grateful that I was prompted to do this session as it has been on my mind that we know in clearer and clearer view what the devil is up to these days but I’m still hazy about what YAH is up to and how he’s working. This was reinforcement fir me that I need to be more actively and fervently seeking to see this as when we focus on the giants they are huge and we miss the even bigger God behind them. By fosusing on the kingdom of YAH I hope to be purchasing the oil for my lamp that will see me through and be hopeful for the time when he will be able ho use us as his mighty army.
