In today's Prophecy Club we resumed our study of Zechariah's 5th vision, found in Zechariah 4:1-14 - specifically the part of the vision about the 7-branched candlestick, which Revelation identifies as the 7 churches.
In our study, we began studying to identify the two olive trees.
We discussed that Olive trees represent Israel, in the Bible - Israel are the people who are saved. This is the first indication that the two olive trees in this vision represent two people:
- In Jer. 11:16-17, Israel is called a "GREEN OLIVE TREE," fair, and of goodly fruit.
Israel is likened to "two olive branches" - the "natural" (the Jews) and the "wild" (the Gentile converts) - Romans 11:16-24 - both branches are grafted into the Stalk, the Vine, which is Messiah Himself.
Because the olive branches are a symbol of the Holy Spirit-filled, saved people of Yahweh; they are listed among the branches which should be present in the Sukkahs at Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) - Nehemiah 8:15
