In today's Prophecy Club session, we studied to find the identity of the clay in the iron and clay feet of the image.
We began by examining the account of how Esau came to be known as Edom. We also looked at the spiritual lessons of rejecting one's spiritual birthright in favor of temporal rewards. We also looked at the Biblical account of what Jacob (Israel) and his sons received in gaining Esau's lost birthright.
Through Hebrew/Aramaic word connection we found that the clay is identified as Edom and the term for mingling the clay indicates Arabia.
Finally, we started studying the identity of the Stone Kingdom, which is the kingdom that ultimately breaks down and destroys the image of Daniel 2.

In one of the apocryphal books, Jasher or Jubilees i can't quite remember, but i recall reading that Esau acted this way over his bithright because he had just killed Nimrod out hunting and thought there would be retribution on his tail so he would not survive. I'm not sure if this is true, but if so it explains why he said he was going to die.
