In today's Prophecy Club session, we our study of the Bethlehem Star, which announced Yahshua's Birth. Our focus was on showing that Yahshua was born on the first Sabbath of Sukkot (Tabernacles) in 3 BC.
The reason we need to establish the date of His Birth, and not the year alone is that astronomy software can be used to go forward or backward in time, recreating the sky. But this only works if you have the precise day and year of the sky event.
So it is necessary to determine Yahshua's Birth date precisely in order to find and recreate the real Bethlehem star sky event...
In summary, the evidence that Yahshua was born on the first day of Sukkot (Tishri 15, or the 15th day of the 7th Biblical month, which is the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles) includes:
- Evidence of a Sukkot Birthday #1: The timing of the birth of John the Baptist, who was six months older than Yahshua... This timing can be determined by calculating when the course of Abijah (Zachariah's priesthood course) was serving in the Temple.
- Evidence of a Sukkot Birthday #2: The fact that Yahshua was born in a Sukkah (see class recording for proof).
- The message of the angels to the shepherds contained numerous well-known Sukkot references - Tabernacles is called "the season of great joy", "our time of joy", "the feast of good tidings to the nations"...
- And more...
