Prophecy Club Session 4: September 3, 2020

In our fourth session, we continued our study of the Five Keys that Unlock Bible Prophecy. We continued our focus and deep study of the third Key, which is the Feasts of Leviticus 23.

The following are some of the KEY CONCEPTS from this class, which were a review (in order to build upon) the concepts from our prior class:

1) Yahweh always does His Work (fulfillment of Prophecy) on His Feast Days. (Which is what we were seeing our Bible study today, the following examples: birth of Isaac, Sodom and Gomorrah's destruction, deliverance of Israel from Egypt, and Yahweh giving the Torah from Mount Sinai).

2) The fact that Yahweh always does His Work on His Holy Days is a repeating pattern that is visible all throughout Scripture.
  • This pattern is without exception - in all cases when Yahweh fulfilled a prophetic event, it always happened on a feast day...  The Flood appears to be the only exception, but actually, even the Flood happened on a Feast (due to the Second Passover provision) which we are continuing to prove... and will finish proving in our next session (next week).
3) The Heavenly lights (Genesis 1:14) were created by Yahweh for marking and defining ALL aspects of time. Including:
  • Days (the length of a day)
  • Years (the start and end of a year)
  • Signs - prophetic time
  • Seasons - the time of the Feasts (which are determined by the Moon, Exodus 12:1-2 and Psalm 104:19
The following are some of the KEY CONCEPTS from this class, which were newly presented in this class:

1) The Biblical year begins on the first new moon (Exodus 12:2) following the Spring Tekufah. The Spring Tekufah marks the end of a Biblical year (2 Samuel 11:1)

2) The Biblical word for New Moon (khodesh) is from the root word meaning "renewed, rebuilt" moon. Additionally, in Bible times, new moons were "sighted". For these two reasons, we may know that Biblical New Moons are the sightable, rebuilt, first visible sliver of the moon which is seen following the conjunction (dark phase when no moon can be seen).

3) The Biblical word for New Moon (khodesh) is from the root word meaning "renewed, rebuilt" moon. Additionally, in Bible times, new moons were "sighted". For these two reasons, we may know that Biblical New Moons are the sightable, rebuilt, first visible sliver of the moon which is seen following the conjunction (dark phase when no moon can be seen).

4) New Moons are always sighted at sunset. The first visible sliver of the new moon will be low on the horizon, at sunset, chasing the sun which is going down. The new moon crescent is not visible for very long in the sky. The day of the new moon begins with the sighting of the new moon crescent - at sundown. The day after the new moon is sighted is the day of the Biblical New Moon (similarly to how Friday evening at sunset starts the Sabbath, but the Seventh-day Sabbath follows the next day).

5) The Hebrew word Tekufah are the four days of the year on which the next season begins: spring, summer, fall, and winter. Plural for Tekufah is Tekufoh. The Tekufoh are all heavenly events (Genesis 1:14) as follows:
  • Spring Tekufah = day when day and night are equal.
  • Summer Tekufah = longest day of the year.
  • Fall Tekufah = day when day and night are equal.
  • Winter Tekufah = shortest day of the year.
6) To determine the timing for Passover/Unleavened Bread, do the following: Count from the day of the New Moon (the first New Moon of the year, which following the Spring Tekufah). Count to the 14th day. The 14th Day is Passover. Days 15-21 are the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
