We are off to an exciting start in our Prophecy Club! In our first class, we discussed the pitfalls of improper Bible study, the reason Bible prophecy is so easy to misunderstand, and we introduced the five keys to correctly interpreting and understanding Bible prophecy.
The following are some of the KEY CONCEPTS from this class:
1) Bible prophecy is cyclical - there are three layers of application/fulfillment for Bible prophecies, which appear in the following times/eras of history:
- Ancient Israel - the first application/fulfillment of a prophecy will be in the time of ancient Israel. (Example: the Elijah Message Prophecy - first fulfillment was that literal Elijah gave the Elijah Message in the time of ancient Israel.)
- Messiah / Early Church - the second application/fulfillment of a prophecy will be in the time of Messiah and/or the Early Christian Church. (Example: the Elijah Message Prophecy - middle fulfillment was that John the Baptist - a spiritual application of "Elijah"- gave the Elijah Message in the time of Messiah.)
- End of the World - the third application/fulfillment of a prophecy will be in the End of the World. (Example: the Elijah Message Prophecy - End-time fulfillment is that the Elijah Message (a call of repentance) will be given in preparation for the Second Coming, as foretold in Malachi 4.)
2) A layer of fulfillment may be a spiritual/figurative fulfillment, instead of a literal fulfillment. For example: John the Baptist was a spiritual or figurative "Elijah", fulfilling the prophecy that Elijah would come before Messiah in His First Advent. Additionally, the middle fulfillment of the 1260 years of trouble was fulfilled in figurative time (a day for a year- or 1260 years) but was fulfilled literally in the first application (ancient Israel - Elijah's time of no rain/death penalty as Jezebel sought to kill him) in that the drought/persecution of Elijah lasted for 1260 literal days.
3) Bible prophecy is only meant to be understood by the Seed of Abraham - the saved Children of the Kingdom - Luke 8:20.
4) Bible prophecy can only be rightly understood by "unlocking" it with using the FIVE KEYS.
The recording of this class is no longer viewable.
